Who are we ?

 

The Christian Corporation "Creciendo Juntos" (Growing Together) is located in the Rincón del Lago barrio of the community of Sucre (Soacha municipality), near Bogota. This area is home to immigrants and those displaced by the armed conflict and the economic situation.

The community is constantly threatened by by various armed group. It lacks adequate fresh water, roads, healthcare, education, public spaces, and housing. Residents have difficulty finding decent work that can pay for their basic necessities.

The Creciendo Juntos Project, now the Christian Corporation Creciendo Juntos, was started by the Mennonite Church of Ciudad Berna in March of 2001 to assist a group of children from the Rincón del Lago barrio. The project helped the with their academics and their formation of values, areas where the state and other entities lent only limited support. Today the organization offers a hopeful alternative for the barrio's residents.
